J.J.Coppinger's is located 300 metres from The Jameson Experience. Our neighbour on Distillers Walk is the world largest distiller of Irish whiskey and a much-celebrated home to a whiskey distillery since 1825. Our Whiskey Bar pays homage to Midleton's world renowned tradition of distilling.

Stocking a growing selection of 100 whiskeys, we are East Cork's premier whiskey bar. While exploring Ireland's Ancient East or after a tour of the distillery, call in for an authentic Irish experience and be entertained by our Whiskey Academy trained bartenders.

J.J.Coppinger’s is home to a display cabinet containing a very special collection of Midleton Very Rare Whiskeys, valued at approximately €60,000. The collection is one of only 6 in the world and is currently one shy of completion (a Midleton Very Rare 1988).

A whiskey uprising kicked-off on 55 Main Street, Midleton in February 2017 as J.J. Coppinger's bar held ‘The Whiskey Rebellion’, in association with Irish Distillers.

We celebrate each Wednesday with whiskey sour specials for €5 each. We continue the 19th Century tradition in making a whiskey sour using the following ingredients:

    • 50ml of Jameson Black Barrel
    • 25ml of freshly-squeezed lemon juice
    • 15ml of sugar syrup
    • 15ml of egg white
    • 3 dashes of bitters

Bootlegging originated during the American Civil War, when soldiers would sneak liquor into the army camps by concealing bottles in their boots.
