Rigal Original Malbec
Light and juicy, this has fresh blackcurrant fruit, with balanced tannins. With its fruit forward flavour, it's not a wine for ageing.
Nose: The nose shows exceptionally rich. Dominating blackberries and red fruit notes.
Mouth: On the palate, the wine has good structure. Fruit flavours of the nose feel on the palate. Moreover, these spicy notes and a hint of vanilla come together.
La Chevaliere Rosé
Produced mostly from the organic Roqua Blanca site on schistous soils ideal for this Syrah-Grenache blend. The high altitude here maintains the aromatics and freshness, supported by whole-bunch pressing to make a delicate style of rosé.
Porrais Douro White
With its spicy peach and zingy lemon curd flavours, Porrais Reserva shows that the Douro is about much more than just port these days – the region’s whites offer superb complexity and richness at very reasonable prices. Quinta de Porrais was in fact once the property of Dona Antónia Ferreira – a 19th century pioneer of the port trade who owned many of the Douro region’s most important estates. This property’s vines, planted on dizzyingly high, steep slopes, are on average 65 years old (many of them are well over 100), hence the great freshness, intensity and mineral complexity of the wine. Combining Rabigato, for ripe fruit and zippy edge, with Códega do Larinho, for its aromatics, this fine white makes a lovely partner for sauced fish.
